Coach Drew Petkoff
Drew Petkoff grew up in Hamilton Ontario playing lacrosse and hockey. After a college hockey career at the University of Windsor, Drew played Jr Lacrosse with the Oakville Buzz and was a 2006 Founder's Cup Champion. In 2008 and 2009 he was a two-time Mann Cup Champion with the Brampton Excelsior playing in the Major Series Lacrosse in Ontario. Since then he has enjoyed seven years in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) playing for New England, Buffalo and Toronto. In 2010 and 2011 he played with Toronto Rock in two Champion Cups winning the prestigious title in that final year. Drew was traded to the Georgia Swarm and played two seasons before an injury sidelined his play.
Beyond Drew’s experience playing lacrosse at the professional level, his passion and skill for coaching young athletes is evident. Since 2015, he has served as the head coach of the Jr. Swarm program (a summer program), which gives local youth the opportunity to play real box lacrosse and compete in the annual Jr. NLL Tournament in Toronto. He directed the Swarm’s Youth Box League, a youth indoor lacrosse league and has served as head lacrosse coach for Mill Creek High School since 2016. Drew is the founder of ALL ACCESS LAX operating the Atlanta Revolution, Georgia's first USBOXLA sanctioned indoor lacrosse club that competes at a national level; and the Bruins, a youth lacrosse team comprised of Walton County Boys and Girls Club members. The Bruins compete in the Gwinnett Lacrosse League. In 2018, Drew received the Walton County Boys & Girls Club Volunteer of the Year Award.

I think my biggest strength as a coach is to be able to go out there and believe in each and every one of them, and give them access to the tools necessary to succeed. I teach them how to play lacrosse, of course, but I make sure they know that they’ve got someone watching their back.
